    As the front desk administrator, Marva is the first person our clients encounter when visiting our firm. Marva brings to SAKG almost 25 years of client service and administration experience. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm for her work create a welcoming environment for our clients.

    In her spare time, Marva crochets blankets, hats and scarves for the sick and elderly. Her creations have warmed the bodies and minds of patients and staff at St. Jude’s Cancer Research, Children’s Mercy Hospital and City Union Mission. Outside of work, Marva enjoys listening to live bands and spending time with her two grandchildren.

    Originally from Arkansas, Faith graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Her interest in the legal field began while she was at college, during which she also obtained a minor in Legal Studies. She has previously worked as a legal intern, primarily dealing with estate law and gaining client service experience. She joined SAKG in July 2021, bringing valuable administrative and organizational skills to the firm as well as an eagerness to achieve excellence alongside the rest of the team.

    Faith currently lives in Overland Park with her husband Cameron and their dachshund puppy, Cece. Outside of work, she can be found relaxing at a local coffee shop, browsing the library, working out at the gym, or attending concerts of her favorite indie bands. She is passionate about helping others, and is always looking for meaningful ways to get involved in her community.

    Elissa joined the firm in September 2021 as a legal billing analyst. She studied Administration of Justice at Johnson County Community College.

    Prior to joining SAKG, Elissa gained administrative experience at a civil litigation firm. She also worked as a bank teller throughout college, which is how she realized her love for working with numbers. She uses her time management skills, organization, and attention to detail to ensure her best work.

    In her spare time, Elissa loves to spend time with her family and friends. She can almost always be found curled up on the couch with a good book or in the kitchen trying out a new recipe.

    As the Chief Operating Officer, Maria manages a wide array of aspects for the firm, including back office operations, technology, workflow management, process improvements, human resources, financials and client billing. She plays a key role in creating, implementing and executing strategic initiatives for the firm.

    Maria began her career working in financial services for companies such as State Street Corporation, Etelligent Consulting and Charles Schwab Corporation. Prior to joining SAKG, Maria managed the operations division of PerfectCube, a data analytics software solution.

    Maria received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Eastern Nazarene College. Having grown up in Massachusetts, she and her family share a love of beaches, seafood and the New England Patriots. Outside of work, Maria enjoys traveling, cooking and volunteering her time to her church and son’s scout troop.

    Karen obtained her Paralegal Certificate from Johnson County Community College and her Associates Degree from Kansas City, Kansas Community College. She has worked extensively in litigation in the areas of product liability, toxic torts, personal injury, medical malpractice and FELA claims.

    Karen lives in Merriam, Kansas with her husband Chris and two boys. She spends her free time pursuing her passion of photography, exploring Kansas City and anywhere the road takes her with her camera.

    Danielle is our legal billing analyst. Danielle uses her great attention to detail, multitasking skills, and legal experience to help the office run smoothly by providing thorough support to the operations team.

    Prior to joining SAKG, Danielle worked as a paralegal in various areas of law, including family law, personal injury, workers’ compensation, and mass tort cases involving defective medical devices.

    Outside of work, Danielle enjoys volunteering in children’s reading programs, practicing yoga, painting, and attempting to cook. She is well-known among her social circle as a ‘crazy plant lady’ with a wish list of 70+ types of plants. She regularly plays plant doctor to her friends’ plants struggling to stay alive.

  7. Sylronda N. Mitchell

    Sylronda (Ronda) is a skilled paralegal with wide-ranging experience in diverse legal environments. She obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Paralegal Studies in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies from Kaplan University in 2011.

    She gained her litigation experience by working in the areas of personal injury, commercial litigation, toxic torts, and healthcare.  She enjoys a challenge, which is demonstrated by her ability to effectively manage large caseloads and efficiently execute multiple high-priority tasks.

    For leisure she enjoys traveling, watching true crime series, trying new local restaurants, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her Yorkie Roman.

  8. Merry E. Morales

    As an administrative assistant, Merry provides a wide range of support services, including  communicating with clients, the Courts and opposing counsel, organizing case files and electronically-stored information, and managing schedules. Merry has more than two decades of experience in the legal field, which included working as an Judicial Administrative Assistant at the United States District Court for the District of Kansas and the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri. She is passionate about using her skills and experience to help our attorneys achieve the best possible results for each client.

    Merry moved from Idaho to the Kansas City area in 1986.  She currently lives in Liberty, Missouri with her husband and three children.  Merry is an avid Chiefs, Royals and Liberty Blue Jays fan, and she enjoys traveling and reading.

  9. Sarah E. Newton

    Sarah joined the firm as a paralegal in 2020. She earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science from the College of Communications at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has over ten years of litigation experience in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, product liability and disability law.

    Sarah enjoys art, music, travel and spending time with her dogs.

    Prior to joining the firm as an administrative assistant in 2016, Carolyn gained three decades of experience in the educational, corporate, and legal arenas.  She brings to the firm a wealth of varied knowledge and provides a wide array of administrative support for the office, attorneys and staff.

    Carolyn currently lives in North Kansas City, Missouri, with her son and her cat.  She enjoys being outdoors, be it watching her son play soccer, gardening, taking walks, kayaking, fishing — just about anything outdoors is fair game.
